Keep Calm and Carry On... Beautiful advice for hard times ~ It was one of the three posters printed by the British Government on the eve of the war in 1939.
I love these!! I had not seen the throw rugs...how perfect, both coming and going to be reminded to just keep calm!! have a great calm and lovely day xoxo bunny
I read somewhere in the press that Cath Kidston was attributing her hugely increased annual profits (despite the credit crunch) to this slogan - people are returning to her Laura Ashley-like pastoral designs as a sort of familiar comfort "food" & away from cold minimalism!!
Love "Keep Calm and Carry On." I have a gold version of the poster hanging in my kitchen. Always a great message to see each day - especially when the kids are having a meltdown as you are about to walk out the door! Love the floor rug version you featured - fabulous!
oooh wow i love your blog! I absolutely will Keep Calm and Carry On...but only if i can keep the rug, otherwise I might throw a tanty instead. Thanks for visiting my blog!
love this quote! this is exactly the way i choose to live. i love finding out where the origin of quotes, things, etc come from. thanks for letting us know. i have seen this quote so many times. i believe it has inspired a lot of other people to do quotes in almost the same style. it looks great where ever you put it. thanks for sharing and thank you for your nice comment. have a lovely day! :)

i never get sick of seeing these posters - its cool that they're so gorgeous and simple graphically, but also have history behind them
I want one of each! Fabu!
Have had to do a bit of this myself the past couple of days, so perfect timing! Great story of its origins in dark times.
